Curtains That Pakenham Homeowners Call Us About Most
Two things come up again and again in Pakenham. The first is drapes that were included with the house and have been sitting there long after they should have been replaced. These curtains may be heavy, sun-faded, or simply not appropriate for the space. It's rarely a dramatic decision; usually it's someone finally getting around to a room that's bothered them for a while.
The second is architecture: a lot of Pakenham's older homes near the town centre and larger properties out on the rural fringe have higher ceilings, bay windows, or French doors that a rigid blind was never really going to suit as well as fabric that drapes properly. Australian Window Covering handles both as routine work, with free in-home measure and quote visits typically booked within days.
Curtains over Blinds for Pakenham Dining Areas
A few cafes and small restaurants along Pakenham's main strip have chosen to use curtains rather than blinds for their front windows and dining areas. This choice is more about mood than functionality. Fabric softens a room in a way a blind doesn't, and for a café trying to feel warm rather than clinical, that difference matters to how customers actually experience the space. It's a small design choice, but one that shapes how long people linger over a coffee. We fit these the same way we'd fit a home, with a free measure and quote and consistent manufacturing if a business needs the same look across multiple windows.

Curtains Pakenham Locals Are Fitting Right Now
-
Blockout Curtains
Blockout curtains are a common straight swap for old, faded curtains in bedrooms that need proper darkness restored, and a popular choice when the original curtains simply weren't doing the job to begin with.

Double Curtains
Double curtains are great for bay windows and living rooms. They give a soft look during the day and full privacy at night — practical for the sort of window shape we see a lot in Pakenham's older housing stock.

Sheer Curtains
Sheer curtains are the go-to for cafes and high-ceilinged living rooms wanting a softer look without losing brightness, particularly where a room already gets plenty of natural light and just needs a gentler finish.
